A series of 6 drawings on handmade Paper, 76 x 58 cm

While working on the “Légères” and the “Constructions”
three basic forms became insistently apparent:
“Double figure” – a duplication where the second form is not
just a plain mirror image but bears differences to the first. The
two evolve around an imaginary vertical axis bringing the whole
in motion.
“Column” – vertical and compact.
“Sheath” –    An envelope, a veil around a half-hidden core
of light or shadow. Is it clothing a void?
In a way drawing is akin to writing. One tries to clarify yet
vague ideas by giving them tangible form. It is quite important
not to rob this vagueness out of its last secrets – maybe
just guide the eyes towards them.

What is the story here? It is probably the movement of the hand
trying to find the unique concentration of lines which will bring a
still hidden form to life. Maybe it is also the transformation of
a plain sheet of paper into a space welcoming the light and
the shadows.
