In November 2015 I went to Senegal to look for the last sun of the year. Against all expectations, it was not the radiant, joyful light flooding everything, which inspired me. For about a quarter of an hour each day rays with the sharpness of laser beams visited the semi-darkness of my room. Any object, laid in a corner draped with mosquito nets, was made to glow with a startling presence.
