Vessel, 2015 (cutout)
The works I am concentrating on at present are ephemeral installations using humble materials – light paper, corrugated cardboard, wire gauze, silk. Their slightness and fragility corresponds to an intimate mood of unrest. As I strive to confer a physical body to lines and surfaces, a condensed space emerges, an apparatus set to catch the light and trap the shadows.
«Whenever we were gleeful no one owned this.
To whom did it belong?
And how it dissolved among moving throngs of people
And in the year’s anxiety, so long.»
Rainer Maria Rilke
